Yes, using our online application system is completely safe and secure. When you are on our application form page you will notice a padlock icon in your browser address bar. That padlock verifies that you are indeed securely connected to Framewerks.ca and that any information being passed between us is encrypted. We use 256 bit encryption which meets or exceeds the current encryption that the major banks use for online banking (ie. RBC currently uses 128bit encryption).
Our partner Home Trust Financial specializes in lending to self-employed entrepreneurs, people with past credit problems, and borrowers with equity in their property who do not qualify due to lack of provable income or little credit history.
There are two main benefits in having your financing through Framewerks as opposed to your bank. The first major advantage is convenience. We make it simple to apply and you do not have to do any of the leg work commonly associated with a bank loan such as in-person meetings with the bank or providing detailed project plans in order to get a loan. We handle all the paperwork for the project details and make it easy for you. Our competitive interest rates will be similar to your bank’s rates, just without the hassle.
The second benefit to our financing is that our loans are open like a line of credit, but they have monthly payments which keep your repayment schedule on track. Having the ability to pay back your loan in full, at any time, gives you control over how much interest you pay. Lines of credit do not force you to pay back the principle amount, this means your 5 year home improvement project can turn into a 10 or 15 year debt because you were not forced to make anything but the interest payments each month. This is why a home improvement loan from us makes sense, you know exactly when the project will be paid off.
The interest rates offered by Home Trust Financial are competitive to what you would receive from a large bank but they will be somewhat higher. The interest rate is determined by many factors including the size of the project and your personal information but you can expect the rate to be much less than a credit card and somewhat more than an unsecured line of credit.
Loans can range from 5 years up to 15 years depending on your needs.
If you only need a small amount of money for a short time, a credit card may be a good option. Most people under-estimate how long they will carry the balance and at 19-29% interest the costs add up quickly. This is not a good option for anything but the smallest home improvement projects.
Very similar to a banking loan, our financing program differs in it’s simplicity. You can simply apply online and easily secure a good interest rate without the hassle of going into your bank.
A Line of Credit(LOC) can be a powerful financial tool due to it’s low interest rates in the 3-10% range. They should only be used for short time financing because the bank can recall the LOC at any point and require immediate repayment.
Bank loans are good options for medium to large sized projects. Interest rates will be higher than a LOC, but with a loan agreement you have control over the repayment terms.
